Jo Rockall

I have worked in education for 24 years, 12 of which have been in a senior leadership role.  Along with my role as Chair of the SASH Education Trust, I am also the Headteacher and Governor of Herschel Grammar School, Trustee of the Schelwood Trust, Trustee and Vice Chair of Governors at Haybrook College.

I have worked across a number of schools, both selective and non-selective. I was Acting Executive Headteacher of Wexham School while they recruited a substantive Headteacher. I have been very closely involved in setting up two free schools in Slough.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, theatre, swimming and exercise classes.

Andrea Fricker

Andrea Fricker BA (Hons) NPQH is the Principal of Grove Academy. Her previous Headship was at Hermitage Primary school in Uxbridge which she led through a challenging period of change and improvements including the raising of standards and achievement, the expansion of the school and a complete rebuild and rebrand.

Andrea is passionate about children having real ownership of their learning and is looking forward to developing a curriculum and assessment system that crosses the barriers between primary and secondary. She is also keen to develop relationships with local businesses to ensure the Grove curriculum is embedded in relevant and real experiences.

Andrea has over 23 years of experience in teaching, including as an Assistant Headteacher at Castleview Primary School at the time it achieved its outstanding status. As an advanced skills teacher for three years she supported several schools in Slough, working closely with staff to raise standards in the teaching of English and Maths and to develop the use of interactive technologies.

Bill Alexander

Bill has over 35 years’ service in the education sector, including 24 years in a variety of senior positions in schools, local authority and examination board. His experience includes Early Years to post 16.

As an Assistant Director for Raising Achievement, he unusually retained an advisory role for primary, secondary and special school across Slough LA. Bill has worked in and supported both high achieving and schools in challenging circumstances. Under his guidance the LA service was deemed to be good with outstanding features.

He has also been a governor in a variety of schools – primary and secondary, and his services have been frequently called upon where governance issues had been identified as an issue. Bill was recruited as Chair of Governors to a local school to work with the new headteacher and senior team to support the school out of special measures. Bill’s significant contribution was recognised in the section 5 report, in turning around the governing body and providing the necessary challenge and support to the headteacher.  In addition, as a LA Assistant Director, he has had the unenviable task of calling governing bodies to account and on occasions successfully created Interim Executive Boards where required. He is adept at providing both challenge and support as the need arises.

Debbie Richards

Debbie Richards

Throughout my career I have sought opportunities to develop and utilise my professional expertise and to play an active part in educational developments.  My focus has primarily been within the field of Special Educational needs and I thrive on the diversity and challenge that this cohort of learners offer.  I have worked successfully in senior leadership positions in special schools for over twenty five year, of which nearly twelve years was as Headteacher of a large generic residential special school.

I have also served as a Governor in my local Infant school, and as Chair successfully supported a move to a Federated model between the Infant and local Junior school.   The federation is highly successful and both schools are judged as Outstanding.

I have recently returned to classroom teaching and work in a resource base within a mainstream primary school.  This experience means I am in a unique position of being able to understand the implications of school, local and national policy from three different perspectives.
